Growth Proposal
Prepared for Extranomical Tours — San Francisco Bay Area sightseeing and day tours, locally owned since 2002.
1. Title
01 — Why Us
More direct bookings at a lower cost per acquisition — with tighter control over how Extranomical grows across Yosemite, wine country, and San Francisco tours.
Not a cold pitch. We completed a full audit of 12 months of your Google Ads data, campaign by campaign, before writing this proposal.
We specialize in this category. Competing against OTAs like TripAdvisor and GetYourGuide is a different problem than generic e-commerce PPC, and we build for that.
Google and Meta managed together, under one strategy, one report, one point of contact.
Beyond paid media, we optimize for traditional search rankings and the AI-powered answer engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity) where more travel research is starting.
2. Why Us
02 — Executive Summary
Extranomical already has strong demand and a category-leading product line. The constraint isn't awareness — it's how efficiently spend converts that demand into direct bookings. Here's what 12 months of account data showed us.
23 Performance Max campaigns were built and rebuilt over the last 12 months, most heavily right as seasonal demand ramped up in spring. Every rebuild resets Google's learning phase at the worst possible time.
74% of Search spend goes to branded keywords. That's efficient traffic, but it isn't proof the account is finding new customers.
The Google "Things To Do" travel campaign is the best-performing channel by cost per acquisition (~$41 vs. $60–70 elsewhere) and is getting a fraction of the budget a channel that efficient should have.
Blog content is driving traffic to pages not built to convert it, and the account structure has grown bloated over time.
Building out Meta campaigns gives us a demand-generation channel Google can't cover — reaching Bay Area visitors before they search, at a lower cost per acquisition, and feeding new customers into the funnel to grow the business.
"Our focus for the first 90 days is fixing what's leaking before we scale what's working."
